Sherman, Texas-based Douglass Distributing reopened its remodeled Lone Star Food Store in Denison, Texas, in October 2015 with an enviable collection of new merchandising areas and a new foodservice concept.
"We expanded the store from 2,400 square feet to 6,300 square feet, while never actually closing the store," said Lone Star CEO Diane McCarty.

The Spinx convenience-store chain opened a new 6,800-square-foot site in South Carolina this spring based on a store design developed in 2012.
Architecturally, the store features high, open ceilings; clear lines of sight from the entryway; and bright, inviting colors and materials.
Outside, customers can fill their cars' gas tanks at eight fuel pumps or take advantage of the on-site car wash. Inside, the store features the chain's Fresh on the Go program, a new made-to-order smoothie station and touchscreen kiosk ordering.
