VERC Enterprises Named 'Fast-Growing' Company

Retailer adds 21st location
DUXBURY, Mass. -- VERC Enterprises, a leading independent convenience store and gasoline operation with locations throughout eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, was recently named to The Boston Business Journal's "Book of Lists" as one of the area's largest private companies.

VERC Enterprises was featured on two separate lists, "Area's Largest Family Businesses" and "Area's Largest Private Companies." The firm has also been a finalist in the Boston Business Journal's "Best Places to Work" competition in the past. The "Book of Lists" was distributed [image-nocss] at a Boston event on January 29 and is now available to subscribers of the Boston Business Journal, and is a "Who's Who" in the Boston-area business community, listing businesses across a wide range of categories.

"We are always pleased to be mentioned by the Boston Business Journal and to be included with so many outstanding businesses," said Leo Vercollone, CEO. "We congratulate the other businesses who have also been recognized in this fashion, and we appreciate all that the Boston Business Journal does to highlight the accomplishments of businesses in this region."

The privately-held company recently added its 21st location, in Acton, Mass., which it said further showcases its growth in these difficult economic times. The company has also undertaken an aggressive recruitment campaign for associates and assistant managers, it said. The company also operates two Briteway Car Washes.

Duxbury, Mass.-based VERC Enterprises began 30 years ago with a single car wash in Marshfield, Mass., in a business founded by Eugene Vercollone. Today, two of his sons operate the company, with Leo Vercollone as CEO and Paul Vercollone as vice president. The firm has more than 185 employees.
