VERC Enterprises Named to Book of Lists

Boston Business Journal recognizes retailer as one of the area’s largest family-owned businesses

DUXBURY, Mass. -- Convenience-store retailer VERC Enterprises has been named to Boston Business Journal’s Book of Lists as one of the region’s largest family-owned businesses.

Published in a recent edition of the Boston Business Journal, the lists provide a unique source to track the progress of local sectors and the key companies within them; ranking is based on 2014 revenue.

VERC Enterprises, which ranked 15th on the Book of Lists, had its beginnings nearly 40 years ago with a single car wash in Marshfield, Mass. Today it employs 224 in Massachusetts and 238 companywide. VERC Enterprises is widely recognized for being a leader in hiring those with Intellectual and developmental disabilities.
