MENTOR, Ohio -- Sheetz Inc. yesterday opened a 5,000-sq.-ft. convenience store in Mentor, Ohio.
The newest addition to the 331-store chain is the 24th location in Ohio for Sheetz. While the store is now open to the public, employees will host a community grand opening celebration Thursday, February 15, with a ribbon cutting ceremony to be attended by customers and the media.
As part of the February 15 festivities, the company will present $2,000 to the City of Mentor Youth Hockey League.
"It's exciting [image-nocss] for us at Sheetz any time we are able to bring our latest concepts in convenience to a new area," said Louie Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing forSheetz. "We just opened a store in nearby Twinsburg, so we're happy to continue growing in the state of Ohio. We are also glad to be supporting youth hockey in Mentor. Being involved in programs that benefit kids has been a longstanding tradition for the Sheetz family."
The new Sheetz location offers a new menu with a variety of fresh Made-To- Order items including cold and toasted subs, paninis, hand-tossed salads along with hot fries, onion rings, chicken fingers and burgers.
It also features Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, a full-service espresso bar staffed by a trained barista. Customers can order hand-made coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochashot, frozen or iced. Frozen fruit smoothies round out the SBC menu. It also offers new premium brewed self-serve coffees made from 100% Arabica beans in many flavors such as Breakfast Blend, Serious Dark Roast, 100% Columbian and Vanilla Nut Cream.
As always at Sheetz, customers place their food and specialty coffee orders at touchscreen order kiosks located both inside the store and outside at the gasoline island.
Self-serve milkshakes, a cold grab-n-go case and self-serve bakery items are all available at the new store as well.
A full-service automatic carwash is a new feature also available at the Mentor store.
Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz operates 331 convenience locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina.
