BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Convenience-store retailer Plaid Pantry’s board of directors has promoted Jonathan Polonsky, currently president and COO, to president and CEO. He succeeds CEO Chris Girard, who will remain with the company in the new position of executive chairman and will continue to serve as chairman of the board.
- Plaid Pantries Inc. ranked No. 63 in CSP’s 2018 Top 202 list of c-store chains by number of company-owned retail outlets.
The company will not fill the COO position. "We are consolidating that role and those duties back in to the CEO position," Polonsky told CSP Daily News.
Polonsky joined Plaid Pantry in 2012 as executive vice president. The company promoted him to COO in 2014. He also assumed the role of president in 2016.
The Plaid Pantry senior leadership team also includes Brent Chadwick as CFO, Tim Cote as vice president of marketing and Bahman Rostamirad as vice president of operations.
Founded in 1963, Beaverton, Ore.-based Plaid Pantry owns and operates about 110 c-stores in the Pacific Northwest, primarily in the greater Portland, Ore., area. The company also has stores in Salem, Ore., and in Seattle. Fuel brands include 76 and Shell.
