Photos: Peek Inside Chestnut Market’s New Convenience Store

The Jamal family has been in the retail and fuel business for more than 40 years in New York. And they’re continuing that legacy with the new Chestnut Market convenience store along the Hutchinson River Parkway, which celebrated its grand re-opening in April.

• Chestnut Market is No. 93 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by total number of company-owned retail outlets.

CPD Energy operates 75 Chestnut Market c-stores outside of New York City.

Center store items were carefully selected to maximize space and provide a wide range of essential products, Chestnut Market says.

The store offers a selection of foodservice items that cater to all day parts. Offerings include chicken on a waffle with hot honey, roller grills, salads, fruit, baked goods and more.

A spinning squirrel in the cupola adds a touch of whimsy and serves as a nod to the location's history.

The store offers a Schaerer bean-to-cup coffee service for freshly brewed coffee on demand. A sign on a beam in the store reads “The coffee is always fresh.”

In addition to hot food items, the store features a cold case with "good eats."

Self-checkout kiosks from Mashgin are featured in the store, in addition to regular checkout counters.
