Northern Tier Energy Appoints New CFO

Bonczek promoted from CAO, succeeding Murphy, at SuperAmerica parent

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Northern Tier Energy LLC--an independent downstream energy company headquartered in Ridgefield, Conn., with refining, retail and pipeline operations in the Upper Midwest--has announced that Dave Bonczek has been appointed vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately. Bonczek most recently worked as Northern Tier Energy's chief accounting officer since he joined the company in March 2011. Bonczek succeeds Neal Murphy, who served in that role since the company's founding.

"We are delighted to announce that Dave has become Northern [image-nocss] Tier Energy's chief financial officer," said Mario E. Rodriguez, chief executive officer of Northern Tier Energy. "Dave's extensive accounting background, his leadership role in our transition efforts and the build out of our finance organization coupled with his strong analytical skills have been of great value to Northern Tier Energy to date. We are looking forward to his ongoing leadership in this expanded role."

Prior to joining Northern Tier Energy, Bonczek was assistant corporate controller at Chemtura Corp. He also held finance management positions within Eastman Kodak including corporate controller of their Kodak Polychrome Graphics joint venture. He began his career with KPMG where his last position was senior manager in their audit practice.

In addition, Oscar I. Rodriguez has been appointed a vice president of the company in recognition to his contribution to the business and the important role he plays as treasurer in the finance organization, the company said.

Ridgefield, Conn.-based Northern Tier Energy was established to own and operate the St. Paul Park Refinery as well as a retail network of SuperAmerica-branded convenience stores and a 17% equity interest in the Minnesota Pipeline.
