Sherman, Texas-based Douglass Distributing reopened its remodeled Lone Star Food Store in Denison, Texas, in October with an enviable collection of new merchandising areas and a new foodservice concept.
"We expanded the store from 2,400 square feet to 6,300 square feet, while never actually closing the store," said Lone Star CEO Diane McCarty.

The new store, which includes a full kitchen was acquired from Circle K in late 2013. It’s at the busiest intersection in Denison, Texas (population 23,000), borders Oklahoma and is 75 miles north of Dallas.
Lone Star Food Stores’ wine selection gets special treatment with an inviting display. And signage, with the brand’s star logo, directs customers to the cash registers and other merchandising areas for their in-store purchases.
Easy-to read signage and a stone wall highlight the store’s fountain offering. More beverage options, including f’real milkshakes, are located conveniently next to the fountain.
A stone wall acts as a backdrop to the beer cave, welcoming customers to “come on in y’all.”
The store’s Mí Taco concept offers burritos, tacos, nachos and more.
Fresh-made tortillas for Mí Taco are prepared on site.
Seating invites customers to dine in and stay awhile.
This merchandiser includes Longhorn gear for showing off University of Texas pride.
