Haseotes Named CEO of Cumberland Gulf Group

Grandson of founders takes helm of multi-billion-dollar company

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- The Cumberland Gulf Group, which includes the Cumberland Farms convenience-store chain and Gulf Oil L.P., one of the nation’s fastest-growing branded marketers of energy products, announced today that Ari N. Haseotes has been named chief executive officer. Haseotes, grandson of founders Vasilios and Aphrodite Haseotes, began working for the company nearly 12 years ago, most recently serving as the president and group chief operating officer and also a member of the Board of Directors. Haseotes succeeds Lily Bentas, who has been acting CEO, and will continue in her role as Chairman of the Board.

Haseotes’ career with Cumberland Gulf began in the Cumberland Farms marketing department in 2003. In 2005, he was appointed to the position of vice president of strategic planning and business development in the Cumberland Farms finance department and became a member of the Board of Directors. Haseotes was named vice president of marketing in 2007 and served in that position until his promotion to president and chief operating officer in 2008. He was appointed president and group chief operating officer of Cumberland Gulf in 2013. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Boston College and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Gulf Oil distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,500 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and more than 130 other supply points.
