Former Cumberland Farms Exec Joins b2b Solutions

Consultancy adds Trotta as consulting partner

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Steve Montgomery, president of b2b Solutions, has announced the addition of Alfred J. Trotta to the company as a consulting partner. b2b Solutions is a Lake Forest, Ill.-based consultancy that works with retailers and suppliers in the convenience retail and petroleum marketing industry.

Trotta has more than 35 years of operational and marketing experience in the convenience store industry gained in senior management roles for the Cumberland Farms chain. As division manager, he was responsible for 136 locations in the Northeast and New York markets.

His [image-nocss] responsibilities included managing the daily operations, maximizing return on investment, profit and loss, increasing sales, reducing inventory losses, workforce planning and short and long-term goal setting for his division. He previously held the position of corporate marketing manager, where he was the driving force behind developing many successful marketing programs. In this role his specific duties included not only included the day-to-day operations of the marketing department, but the overseeing of the buying for the distribution center, negotiating vendor contracts and developing affective marketing communication techniques.

Two of his major accomplishments in developing consistent merchandising programs were to establish a point-of-sales department and a merchandising division.
