The 28-store Clipper, based in Flowery Branch, Ga., is working with Gaithersburg, Md.-based OpenStore by GasBuddy to execute the digital-marketing solution that allows retailers to reach and reward customers without having to build and maintain the technological infrastructure.

With OpenStore by GasBuddy, Clipper can reach customers through a branded mobile app, individual-store web pages, mobile coupons and social media, including Facebook and Twitter.

"We are very excited about our partnership with OpenStore in the redesign of our website and debuting our new Clipper mobile app. This opportunity will give us more avenues to connect with our current customers and reach out to new ones," said Ed Hong, vice president of retail operations for Clipper. "The Clipper mobile app will also allow us to make the buying experience at our stores more convenient and economical for our customers."

"OpenStore offers a way to engage with convenience-store customers on a new level by offering promotions and unique smartphone applications that help increase in-store sales and brand loyalty," said Jason Toews, co-founder and CEO of OpenStore by GasBuddy. "We will work together with Clipper Petroleum to deliver customers a memorable experience."

OpenStore by GasBuddy is a solution that increases customer loyalty by providing two-way communication between c-store owners and customers, using custom-branded mobile applications. The OpenStore dashboard allows retailers to collect customer feedback, manage social media and marketing campaigns and deliver mobile coupons through one platform.

Clipper Petroleum currently owns and operates 28 convenience stores in Georgia and South Carolina under the On the Run, Circle M and Subway brands. For over 70 years, it has operated as a c-store, fast-food retailer and wholesale fuel distributor.
