Here are some details:

  • Jiffy Mart. The Westminster, Md.-based chain held a charity autograph-signing event to benefit The Shepherd’s Staff. The event, featuring Baltimore Ravens tight end Crockett Gillmore, raised $2,500 in funds and lots of food.
  • Parker’s. The Savannah, Ga.-based Parker’s gave $2,000 to Evans County schools as part of the company’s Fueling the Community program, which donates a portion of the sale of every gallon of gas on the first Wednesday of each month to area schools. The initiative launched in fall 2011 and donates more than $100,000 each year to public and private schools throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
  • Speedway. Through donations from customers, vendor partner and employees, Speedway, Enon, Ohio, raised $10.3 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in 2015—$2.3 million more than in 2014. The convenience-store chain has raised more than $78 million for the charity since becoming a corporate partner in 1991.
  • VERC Enterprises. The Duxbury, Mass.-based chain presented Fitchburg High School in Fitchburg, Ma., West Middle School in Andover, Ma., and Cold Spring Elementary School in Plymouth, Ma., each with a check for $500. These grants were made possible through the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program. Funded by the ExxonMobil Corp., the program gives local retailers an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants.
  • Green Print. A leading provider of reduced carbon fuel programs, Atlanta-based Green Print announced it is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees in the nation’s forests. “Thanks to GreenPrint's commitment thousands of needed trees will be planted to help clean the air, protect water resources, and restore habitat and beauty to forests that have suffered devastation,” said Dan Lambe, Arbor Day Foundation president.
