Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods Market last summer allows the companies to not only peacefully coexist but also fuel each other. During the week of Amazon’s annual Prime Day promotion, Prime subscribers could get $10 to spend on Amazon when they spent $10 or more at Whole Foods.
Cincinnati-based Kroger works to build consumer trust and efficient food safety practices by tapping into data from its rewards program to aid in foodborne-illness investigations and recalls, according to Forbes.
Market of Choice, and 11-unit chain in Eugene, Ore., has sliced center-store aisle space by 22% in recent years, according to The Wall Street Journal. The stores allocate the extra room to cozy seating and atmosphere around the foodservice station to invite guests to dine in and linger.
