Rutter's to Christen Its First Beer Cave

Grand opening will feature food and coffee, plus beer at 29 degrees

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Rutter’s Farm Stores' newest location will include a new profit center.

The store in Mercersburg, Pa., will be the convenience-store chain's first to include a beer cave featuring "a variety of craft, import and domestic beers and ciders" in single-serve packages and six-packs.

The beer cave will be maintained at a low 29 degrees, according to the company, to give customers a chilled-beer experience.

Rutter's will host a grand opening of the store Tuesday, Oct. 11. Customers will be able to try samples from Rutter’s award-winning food menu, gourmet coffee bar and Rutter’s dairy products and snag some giveaways.

“With each one of our new stores, we like to have a grand opening event to be able to interact with our customers," said Derek Gaskins, Rutter’s chief customer officer. "We believe this is a great opportunity for customers to come out and see the convenience Rutter’s is able to provide for them.”

York, Pa.-based Rutter’s is a family-owned convenience-store chain with 64 stores throughout central Pennsylvania.
