SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Red Bull just released its newest series flavor, Winter Edition Fig Apple, as a limited-time offering.

“Whether you are taking to the ice, hitting the slopes or warming up by the fire, Red Bull Winter Edition Fig Apple will give you wings for any adventure,” said the energy drink company, which has its U.S. headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif. “Break the ice and try something new this winter with a can of Winter Edition Fig Apple, with tasting notes of sweet apple, a hint of fig and caramel, and a crisp, wintry finish. Red Bull Winter Edition Fig Apple is a great slope-side spark or base for a fireside mocktail.

The flavor is available in 8.4 ounces as a single-serve can and in a four-pack. It also is available in a 12-ounce spruce-colored matte can.

Red Bull in May rolled out a new beverage in conjunction with convenience-store retailer QuickChek called Red Bull Infusions. Infusions start with a can of Red Bull and infuse one or more flavors for a colorful iced or frozen drink.

Red Bull is available in more than 170 countries, and 7.9 billion cans of Red Bull were consumed last year, 3 billion of those in the United States alone. Red Bull’s signature 8.4-ounce can contains 80 milligrams of caffeine, about the same amount as in a home-brewed cup of coffee.
