TULSA, Okla. -- Tulsa International Airport will be home to the area's first Pops convenience store, famous for its Route 66 landmark in Arcadia, Okla., offering a wide variety of carbonated beverage flavors, reported Tulsa World.
Airport concessions vendor Paradies-Novel Idea LLC said it plans to replace its Novel Idea bookstore near Concourse A with a Pops-licensed c-store.
Pops' single Arcadia store, just outside Oklahoma City, carries more than 600 soda flavors. The store and restaurant opened in 2007.
The Pops at Tulsa International will be much smaller, said the report, with a more limited selection.
"The Pops people are excited to be in Tulsa," Tim Thornton, general manager for Paradies, told the newspaper.
The 1,072-square-foot store will feature soda, as well as candy, snacks and other goods for fliers.
Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City also features an airport version of a Pops store.
The Tulsa Pops will be behind TSA security lines, and therefore only available to passengers and airport employees.
The Pops store should be open early next year, airport spokesperson Alexis Higgins told the paper.
