Nestle Waters' Brown Promoted to Global Unit

Will assume role of president, CEO for Nestle Canada
GREENWICH, Conn. -- Nestle Waters North America Inc. announced today that Tim Brown will assume the role of president and CEO as market head for Nestle Canada Inc. this month. Dimitrios Smyrnios, the current executive vice president of direct business, will replace Brown as executive vice president retail operations.

Brown joined Nestle Waters' sales group in 1988 and has held progressively more senior positions, serving as executive vice president retail operations since 2001. He has been directly responsible for $3 billion in annual revenues for the company's retail division. [image-nocss]

His growth and development of the retail organization and our brands have helped position Nestle Waters as the number one bottled water company in the U.S. and Canada, growing market share from 25% to over 40% in the last 10 years. We will miss Tim's leadership, but we applaud his promotion as both an acknowledgement of his accomplishments and a positive reflection on Nestle Waters," said Kim Jeffery, president and chief executive officer of Nestle Waters North America.

Jeffery also announced that Dimitrios Smyrnios, the current executive vice president of direct business, will replace Brown as executive vice president retail operations. Smyrnios began his Nestle Waters career in 1993, after spending eight years at Frito Lay, and has held progressively more senior positions culminating in his current role in 2000. During his tenure, the direct business has successfully assimilated more than 10 acquisitions across the nation becoming the market share leader in the bottled water home and office delivery segment.

Brown, 46, will be based in Toronto.Nestle Canada manufactures global brands including Nestle Professional, Stouffer's, Lean Cuisine, Nesquik, Nestle Good Start, Powerbar, Haagen-Dazs, Kit Kat, Nescafe, Nestle Pure Life, Nestle Drumstick and Nestle Purina Beneful. Nestle Canada employs approximately 3,500 people in more than 20 manufacturing sites, sales offices and distribution centers across the country.
